Lauren Ross


Hailing from the quaint town of Media, Pennsylvania, just beyond Philadelphia, Lauren Ross stands as a distinguished summa cum laude graduate from Temple University’s honors program. Armed with a degree in Global Studies, specializing in Global Security, and a minor in Arabic, Lauren’s academic journey reflects a profound commitment to knowledge and advocacy. In her multifaceted roles encompassing research and internships, Lauren showcased her expertise in political science, multilateralism, and language evaluation techniques. This demonstrated commitment echoes her passion for equality and advocacy, setting her apart as a dedicated individual striving for positive change. Amidst the challenges of the pandemic, Lauren’s dedication shone brightly during an intensive Arabic program in Morocco, further amplifying her linguistic prowess. An internship at the US Department of State’s Foreign Service Institute witnessed her engaging with diplomats and contributing significantly to the DEIA working group. Lauren’s achievements culminated in her induction into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa, coupled with the outstanding graduating Arabic student award. Looking ahead, Lauren envisions delving deeper into Global Security and Middle East studies in graduate school, harboring aspirations to serve as a Crisis Stabilization and Governance officer within the USAID Foreign Service. Her academic pursuits aside, Lauren’s adventurous spirit has led her to explore 15 countries across four continents, embodying her passion for travel and cultural immersion. Beyond academia, Lauren volunteers as a college prep counselor, where she provides personalized coaching and diligently assesses progress to offer optimal support for minority students. Lauren’s unwavering advocacy for the marginalized aligns seamlessly with her natural progression toward a career with USAID, where she aspires to continue championing the cause of those who need it most.
